History

A modified Type B kaibōkan escort ship, a follow-on to the Mikura class. Note: sources disagree on the exact number of ships (between 20 and 27, depending on whether the closely related nine-ship Hiburi sub-class is counted) - the list below is therefore not claimed to be exhaustive. The class proved unusually resistant to mine damage (hit 11 times, only 3 losses from it).
