History
Emergency coastal minelayer for late-war needs, converted from a standard Type 2D wartime cargo ship (laid down November 1944, Naniwa Dock). A planned second ship of the class (“Hull No. 1822”) was never completed, making this a class of one in practice. Note: Minoo’s ultimate fate could not be reliably established from the sources available.
