Katsuriki
History
The Navy’s first purpose-built ocean minelayer (a rushed WWI-era order, 1916, Kure Naval Yard, on a merchant-ship-like hull). Later converted into a hydrographic survey ship (surveyed the Spratly Islands in 1938, among others). Sole ship.
