No.1-class Submarine Chaser

History

Early submarine chaser class (1933-36), only three units (CH-1 to CH-3), designed fast enough at 24 knots to catch the 20-knot surface speed of Kaidai III-class submarines. Not to be confused with the later, same-named “No.1-class auxiliary submarine chaser” (第一号型駆潜特務艇, 1943, 200 boats) - different kanji, different class.
