Akashi
History
Built from the keel up as a fleet repair ship (Sasebo Naval Arsenal, commissioned 1939). Two sister ships were planned but cancelled on 11 August 1943 and never built. Not to be confused with the unrelated, same-named Suma-class protected cruiser Akashi (c. 1897-1930s).
